Design File Generator

When starting a Traffic Control Plan a file utilizing the correct seed file must be created.  

This can be accomplished by utilizing the Method described below:

1. Once in the Design File Generator application enter the following information in the window 
    that first appears:

A. Either type the TIP# in the correct space or if entered previously select from the drop down 
    listing. Select the Unit and Type utilizing each corresponding drop down listing and if 
    desired add a description in the box provided. NOTE: The New Design File Name that was built 
    with this process.

B.  Go to Dimensions and click on 2D.

C. Then go to Workspace and click on English or Metric, depending on the project's workspace.


NOTE:  If unsure look at the Roadway Design Title sheet for your clue.  If it is a Metric project 
            it will have a stamp or cell stating such in the upper right hand corner. A lack of such a 
            stamp or cell tells you the project is using English Working Units.

D. Choose the correct Drive and Directory (folder) for saving the file.   
   
2. Click on Create. The file you created should appear in the Files List.  Close the DFG application. 

NOTE: You may immediately enter the newly created file by double clicking on same within the Files List. 
           Somewhere along the line however, you will have to close out the DFG application.

3. A blank file has now been created for your use.
