It's important to keep in mind that during the time these files were captured and archived, the ROME project had been taking place in the NCDOT GIS unit for over 2 years. That means that no quarterly updates had been sent to mapping during that time. About the only updates we've been able to obtain concerned municipal boundaries and bridge locations. In the 2nd quarter of 2017, we began receiving very limited road updates. These files were archived after the third quarter updates had been released from the GIS unit. As more road updates are sent to the Mapping section, I may decide to archive our county maps twice per year until John Davis from Road Inventory can let us know that most all additions, deletions and edits are current.
