STIP Manager Report: Project Comparison NCDOT STIP The N.C. Department of Transportation's long-range transportation plan – called the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) – identifies the construction funding and schedule for state transportation projects over a 10-year period. NCDOT updates the STIP approximately every two years. The data-driven process to update the STIP is called Strategic Prioritization. For more information, visit NCDOT’s STIP web site. Project Comparison STIP Manager provides the user with a web-based interface to view, enter, and edit data associated with the NCDOT Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). Modules are included to allow users to add and manage projects, input funding information, and to process STIP revisions through an automated workflow. Additional reporting and analysis features are included. The Simple version of the Project Comparison report allows the user to compare the differences in projects between two STIPs. Summary information about each project is included in the report with differences highlighted. When creating the Simple version of this report, once a STIP and Revision is selected to compare, Statewide, Division, County, and MPO/RPO filters are available as report configuration options. Projects are grouped and sorted by Division, County, Mode, and STIP ID. The Standard version of this report includes Project Funding across the 10-year STIP window for each project. When creating the Standard report, once a STIP and Revision is selected to compare, additional Filter Categories and Items are available to select. The Filter Category options are Project Details and Project Location. If Project Details is selected, the following Items can then be selected: Funding Program, Mode, STI Funded Category, or STIP ID. If Project Location is selected, County, Division, or MPO/RPO Items can then be selected. Following this initial Category and Item filtering, the query to determine what the Project Comparison report displays is further structured with the user selecting logical operators and values. Additional rows of criteria can be joined to the above items to formulate a more complex query for the Standard report output.
